SKSU - Palimbang Campus Library History

The Sultan Kudarat State University was created and starts its operation on June 2, 1991 by the virtue of an enabling Act 6973 along with the establishment of the college; it came into existence through the growing development of the library. The Sultan Kudarat Polytechnic State College now Sultan Kudarat State University passed the bill RA 1966 last January 18, 20210. The first library-in-charge in the campus was a faculty member. It was during the collections were added and procurement of additional facilities and equipment were provided. After nineteen years, when Mrs. Donio retired, Mr. Emmanuel S. Acharon, a faculty designated librarian, took the initiative to manage the library. There are additional books used in the library which were donated by some of the students and faculty. When Mr. Acharon was designated to be Campus Registrar, he was replaced by Mario Deita who served on A Y. 2011-2012. Ms, Heidi Onado took the place of Mr. Deita during the 1st of A.Y. 2012-2013. During her time instructional materials are kept in the library to be used by the 4th year students during their practice teachings of field study. She was replaced by Mrs. Hannah L. Dafielmoto who served as the designated library-in-charge from November 2013 to June 2014. After Mrs. Dafielmoto she was replaced by Ms. Karen Peñafiel where the linkages were established from A.Y. 2014-2015. She was replaced by Mrs. Shiel Mae A. Migraso, during her time 95% of the students acquired library ID for book loaning purposes, utilized library funds in purchasing photocopier, chairs, desktop and tables and cabinets at the academic Year 2016-2017.

In February 19, 2018 a licensed librarian was hired for Palimbang Campus Library in the person of Miss Mila L. Datucali, RL, within the same year the campus took level 1 accreditation for their BEED program and the library passed the level 1 AACCUP accreditation. When a licensed designated campus librarian, the library collection was processed and classified according to the standard classification of library collection, acquired references that are in line with the program offered by the campus, established linkages and acquired more materials needed by the library clients. The designated campus librarian now is still working on to meet the needs of the clientele in the campus. As of now the campus library has 2,291 total volumes of books.

The Palimbang Campus Library is located on the 1st floor of the administration building besides Campus Registrar's Office.
