Tacurong City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) President Atty. Cyrus E. Torrena, DPA, MNSA, officially began his first day in office on August 13, 2026, setting the tone for his administration through a series of meetings focused on strengthening coordination, addressing institutional concerns, and advancing the University’s academic and administrative priorities.
During the morning, Atty. Torrena met with several division directors to discuss their respective offices, ongoing initiatives, and key concerns that require immediate attention. The meetings provided an opportunity for the new University President to familiarize himself with the different operations of the University and establish stronger communication and coordination with its key officials.
In the afternoon, Atty. Torrena continued his engagement with the academic community through a meeting with the College of Law and the Director for Internationalization. Discussions centered on matters concerning the College and opportunities to further strengthen the University’s international linkages and global engagement.
He also met with the campus director and officials of the College of Engineering to discuss academic and campus-related concerns, as well as initiatives that could further support the needs of students, faculty, and personnel.
The series of meetings on his first day reflected Atty. Torrena’s commitment to a hands-on and consultative leadership approach. His immediate engagement with various university officials underscores his intention to listen, understand existing concerns, and work collaboratively toward responsive and student-centered governance.
