OFFICE OF THE VICE-PRESIDENT FOR RESEARCH, EXTENSION AND INNOVATION

The Office of the Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation (OVPREI) is the primary administrative unit responsible for the formulation, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of the University’s research, extension, and innovation programs, in support of instruction and national development goals.

Functions

  1. Formulate and implement institutional policies, plans, and programs on research, extension, and innovation aligned with the University VMGO and CHED mandates.

  2. Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate all research, extension, and innovation activities of the University.

  3. Promote and support faculty and student research through capability-building programs, incentives, and funding assistance.

  4. Ensure compliance with research ethics, quality standards, and regulatory requirements of funding and accrediting agencies.

  5. Plan, implement, and monitor extension and community engagement programs responsive to identified community needs and development priorities.

  6. Strengthen partnerships and linkages with LGUs, government agencies, industries, NGOs, and other institutions for research, extension, and innovation.

  7. Promote innovation, technology transfer, intellectual property protection, and commercialization of research outputs.

  8. Establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact and effectiveness of research, extension, and innovation programs.

  9. Mobilize internal and external resources to support research, extension, and innovation initiatives.

  10. Oversee the dissemination of research and extension outputs through publications, conferences, fora, and knowledge-sharing platforms.

  11. Provide strategic advice and recommendations to University management on matters related to research, extension, and innovation.

  12. Foster a research-oriented, extension-responsive, and innovation-driven academic culture in the University.
