President Samson L. Molao sets foot at the coastal area campuses of SKSU
As the new SKSU President, Dr. Samson L. Molao visited the coastal area campuses of Sultan Kudarat State University. He first set foot at Kalamansig Campus on August 30, 2022. He was graciously and warmly welcomed by the new campus director, Dir. Victorino M. Laviste, MAED with the faculty, staff, and other stakeholders of the campus. A program was prepared to honor and welcome the 4th President of the University and be up close and personal with the excited students of SKSU Kalamansig. Students show their singing and dancing prowess with brilliant color costumes as an opening salvo. The program was attended by the Local Government of Kalamansig in the person of Hon. Leslie P. Caberte, and PTCA President Datu Arnel Andong.
The president conveyed his heartwarming gratitude for the warm welcome of the students and faculty on his first visit. He first gave his inspirational message emphasizing the importance of Education, He said “Education is the best neutralizer, passport in the future, hence, one should study hard.” He also appealed that students should dispel the three negative traits, such as the attitude of “mamaya na habit, pwede na and bahala na” he simply emphasizes that one should exert effort, act immediately, and work excellently as a student to attain success. With this challenge, he also committed to help the 1,146 students of Kalamansig with the following: Computer access, improve facilities and laboratories, transport vehicles, and student activity both sports and socio-cultural. But he emphasized making use of the internet for educational purposes and not spreading false information that affects the university. He greatly emphasized that SKSUans should be a Generator of Solutions.
Honorable Leslie P. Caberte, the Municipal Mayor Representative, expressed her profound gratitude for the visit of Pres. Molao, at the Municipal Hall of Kalamansig, this is indeed a courteous gesture that they appreciated so much. As the representative of the LGU, she expressed the 100% commitment of LGU as a partner of SKSU. On the other hand, Datu Arnel Andong, PTCA President, also expressed his support and commitment to the administration and the university as a whole.
The president was accompanied by the Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Reynaldo H. Dalayap, Jr., Student Regent, Jules Kenn Catane, and some key officials who conduct an assessment of the needs of the campus. Dr. Julie E. Albano and Dr. Rande B. Dehavez, the former Campus directors also help facilitate the first onsite visit of the president.
