SKSU Strengthens Research Partnerships through MOA Signing with DOST XII, and TESDA XII

October 29, 2025 – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office XII (DOST XII), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA XII) during a ceremony held at the QMS Conference Room, ACCESS Campus.

The event opened with welcome remarks from Dr. Badu M. Panimbang, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Innovation, followed by the rationale presented by Dr. Noraisa K. Yasin, Project Leader of NICER Phase II. Messages of support were delivered by Engr. Sammy P. Malawan, Regional Director of DOST XII; Mr. Bienvenido L. Solano Jr., Division Chief of TESDA XII; and Dr. Samson L. Molao, EdD, University President of SKSU, who underscored the university’s unwavering commitment to advancing research-based agricultural innovation and fostering meaningful collaborations that strengthen the region’s scientific and economic development.

A ceremonial MOA signing highlighted the collaboration, marking a unified effort toward advancing regional research and innovation. The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr. Cyril John A. Domingo, Project Leader of NICER Phase II.

This partnership aims to strengthen the implementation of the SKSU-NICER Halal Goat Science and Innovation Center Phase II, Project 1, titled “Development of Regulatory Policy Instruments Towards Certification of Halal-Compliant Goat Farms.”

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this initiative supports SDG 2: Zero Hunger, by promoting sustainable and ethical food production; SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, through research-driven agricultural development; and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, by fostering collaboration among government agencies and the academic sector to achieve inclusive and science-based progress.
