Mr. King Alizon M. Camral, MPA, a faculty member of the Department of Political Science at Sultan Kudarat State University – Tacurong City Campus, has been selected to participate in the International Research and Publication Capacity-Building Program titled “Building Research and Publication Capacity of Emerging Scholars in Mindanao.” The two-year initiative, led by the Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in partnership with King’s College London (KCL) and funded by The British Academy, aims to enhance the research and publication capacities of emerging Mindanao-based scholars focusing on peace and conflict studies while fostering collaboration and scholarly exchange among higher education institutions in the region.
Through this international collaboration, Mr. Camral will take part in mentorship programs, writing sprints, masterclasses, and research workshops, allowing him to work closely with both local and international experts. The program also opens opportunities for interdisciplinary learning, peer review, and co-authorship of research papers that reflect Mindanao’s diverse peace and governance landscape strengthening academic linkages and promoting a culture of evidence-based inquiry and innovation across participating universities.
University President Dr. Samson L. Molao lauded Mr. Camral’s achievement, recognizing it as a testament to SKSU’s commitment to global academic collaboration and the advancement of scholarly excellence. This milestone underscores the university’s active contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) reflecting SKSU’s dedication to research-driven education, institutional partnerships, and the pursuit of sustainable and inclusive development.
