The College of Teacher Education recognizes the achievement of Mr. Christian F. Pimentel, MPA, faculty member, for representing Sultan Kudarat State University as a research presenter at the 5th OPAPRU Peace Research Conference held on November 4–5, 2025, at the Corporate Finance Plaza, Ortigas Center, Pasig City.
With the full support of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, EdD, Mr. Pimentel joined educators, scholars, and peace advocates from across the country in the event organized by the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU) to promote peace, reconciliation, and sustainable development.
He presented his study titled “Countering Terrorism through Local Reintegration Program in the Province of Sultan Kudarat,” which explores how local reintegration initiatives help address terrorism and support former combatants’ transition to peaceful civilian life. The research emphasizes the importance of government and community collaboration in sustaining peace in conflict-affected areas.
Mr. Pimentel’s participation underscores SKSU’s and the College of Teacher Education’s commitment to advancing research and peacebuilding in Mindanao—aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
