Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), in partnership with the Commission on Human Rights – Region XII, conducted a Disability Sensitivity Orientation and Legal Awareness Forum on December 11, 2025, to strengthen awareness on disability rights and promote an inclusive academic community. Delivering the message on behalf of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, Vice President for Finance and Resource Generation Reynaldo H. Dalayap Jr. reaffirmed the university’s promise to uphold inclusive practices and champion the rights of persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The program featured a welcome message from Rashida A. Asis, GAD Director and CHRE Coordinator, followed by a video message from CHR Commissioner Ma. Amifaith Fider-Reyes. The Disability Affairs Office of LGU Tacurong discussed proper disability etiquette, while Atty. Reuben P. Escarlan of CHR–Region XII delivered an in-depth session on PWD Protective Laws, emphasizing accessibility, inclusion, and anti-discrimination measures. An open forum encouraged participants to raise concerns and strengthen collaborative efforts for PWD empowerment.
The event concluded with a message from Maricel C. Amit, DIT, highlighting SKSU’s continuing commitment to rights-based governance and inclusive development. The activity directly supports global priorities under SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), affirming the university’s dedication to fostering safe and accessible spaces for all.
