Tacurong City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) successfully conducted the ISO 9001:2015/amd1:2024 Certification Audit (Stage 2) on April 27–28, 2026, marking a significant advancement in the institution’s ongoing commitment to quality assurance, operational excellence, and international standards. The two-day audit was spearheaded by Lead Auditor Estrella S. Buenaventura, together with members of the audit team, Capt. Dante C. Bo, PhD, JD, and James Alfred H. Servillon, RN. The auditors carried out a thorough and systematic evaluation of the university’s Quality Management System (QMS), examining its alignment with ISO standards and assessing the effectiveness, consistency, and compliance of processes across key offices, academic units, and support services.

The Stage 2 audit, which primarily focuses on the implementation and effectiveness of documented systems, involved interviews with personnel, validation of operational procedures, and review of records and evidence that demonstrate the university’s adherence to quality management principles. The activity highlighted SKSU’s continuous efforts to institutionalize a culture of excellence, accountability, and client satisfaction in all its programs and services.

University President Dr. Samson L. Molao actively participated throughout the two-day audit, emphasizing the administration’s strong support for quality initiatives and institutional development. During the Opening Meeting held on April 27, 2026, President Molao delivered a message expressing confidence in the university’s preparedness and collective efforts. He affirmed that SKSU is ISO ready, underscoring the institution’s readiness to meet and sustain internationally recognized standards of quality management. In his message, the University President also acknowledged the dedication of faculty members, administrative personnel, and key offices who have worked collaboratively to strengthen systems and processes in preparation for the certification audit. He highlighted that the pursuit of ISO certification is not merely for compliance, but a strategic initiative aimed at improving service delivery, enhancing stakeholder satisfaction, and ensuring continuous improvement across all areas of university operations.

Aligned with global development frameworks, SKSU’s commitment to quality management directly supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education, strengthening the university’s governance systems and institutional accountability, and emphasizing partnerships, stakeholder engagement, and collaborative processes.

As SKSU moves forward, the results of the audit are expected to provide valuable insights and recommendations that will guide the university in sustaining its quality management system and strengthening its institutional performance. With this milestone, the university continues to position itself as a leading state university in the region, committed to delivering quality education and services that meet the evolving needs of its stakeholders.
