A Unified Vision for Education: CHED Commissioner Apag Visits SKSU and Pays Courtesy Call to Governor Mangudadatu

Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) warmly welcomed Commissioner Desiderio R. Apag III, D. Eng., PCPE of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) during his official visit to the university. Commissioner Apag also serves as Chairperson of the SKSU Board of Regents.

Joining him were Justice James Lee L. Cundangan, Assistant Solicitor General; Atty. Ariadne Rose Esquillon, Chief of Staff at the Office of Commissioner Apag; and Ian Christopher Mangubat, Project Staff.

The CHED delegation was cordially received by University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, who, together with key university officials and academic stakeholders, led the welcome ceremony and facilitated discussions with the Commissioner. The engagement served as a platform to reaffirm SKSU’s ongoing collaboration with CHED in advancing higher education, promoting institutional development, and strengthening governance. Meaningful dialogue took place throughout the visit, highlighting a shared commitment to academic excellence and responsive public service.

In addition to his university engagement, Commissioner Apag also paid a courtesy call on Governor Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu at the Provincial Capitol. The Commissioner and his delegation were given a tour of the capitol premises, symbolizing the strong partnership between national education agencies, the local government, and academic institutions.

The day’s activities underscored a unified vision for inclusive and progressive education in the region. This aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. The visit also reflects SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by fostering collaboration among government agencies, local authorities, and academic institutions to drive sustainable and inclusive development.
