The Junior Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – Sultan Kudarat State University Chapter (JIECEP-SKSUC) once again demonstrated its excellence after securing 1st Runner-Up Overall among eight participating institutions during the 15th JIECEP SOCCSKSARGEN Summit 2025 held at Family Country Hotel, General Santos City. The overall rankings placed Mindanao State University (MSU) as the Champion, followed by Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) as 1st Runner-Up, Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC) as 2nd Runner-Up, and the University of Southern Mindanao (USM) as 3rd Runner-Up. Other participating schools included Notre Dame University (NDU), Notre Dame of Dadiangas University (NDDU), Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU), and Notre Dame of Kidapawan College (NDKC).
Now on its third consecutive participation in the regional summit, JIECEP-SKSUC continues to establish its reputation as a strong contender despite being the youngest chapter in the JIECEP-SOCCSKSARGEN family. The organization has rapidly gained recognition through its members’ outstanding talent, teamwork, and determination, qualities that allow SKSU to stand out alongside long-established institutions.
The annual summit gathered some of the most promising Electronics Engineering students across the SOCCSKSARGEN region to promote camaraderie, collaboration, and intellectual growth through a series of academic and non-academic competitions. The remarkable performance of the SKSU delegates serves as a testament to their commitment and discipline, embodying the university’s pursuit of excellence.
This achievement was made possible through the full support of Dr. Samson L. Molao, University President, whose leadership continues to inspire excellence within the university community. The organization also extends its gratitude to Dr. Rommel M. Lagumen, Campus Director, and Engr. Alexes N. Gallo, MEP-ECE, Program Chair, for their guidance and encouragement. Through their collective support, JIECEP-SKSUC once again proved that even the youngest chapter can stand tall among the giants of the region.
The participation of SKSU in this summit also reflects its continued commitment to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. By promoting quality education through academic excellence, fostering innovation in the field of electronics engineering, and strengthening partnerships with other institutions in the region, SKSU continues to contribute to sustainable growth and nation-building. Through initiatives like the JIECEP-SOCCSKSARGEN Summit, the university reaffirms its dedication to developing future engineers who uphold excellence, collaboration, and innovation in service to the community and the world.
