SK TechJam 2024 – The Sultan Kudarat Provincial Reverse Pitching and Hackathon has emerged as a pivotal event heralding a month-long celebration of Innovation and Technopreneurship in the province. This dynamic initiative, which unfolded at the Sultan Kudarat State University on May 7th, engaged academic institutions and independent tech startups across the province and Region 12, fostering collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving prowess among participants.
The event drew participants from various academic institutions and independent tech startups across Sultan Kudarat Province and Region 12, all converging to tackle challenges and innovate solutions. Five participating schools, including SKSU Isulan, SKSU ACCESS, SKSU Tacurong, Tacurong National High School, and Notre Dame of Tacurong College, contributed to the vibrant atmosphere of innovation.
In the fiercely competitive Tertiary Category, SKSU emerged as the dominant force, showcasing the depth of talent within its ranks. Team gAIn of SKSU Isulan Campus’s Computer Studies Department clinched the coveted 1st Place, demonstrating their exceptional problem-solving skills and technical acumen. Following closely behind, Team Eco AIR from SKSU Isulan’s Engineering Department secured the 2nd Place, while Team COF-WEE of SKSU ACCESS Campus showcased their innovative approach, earning the 3rd place accolade.
In the Secondary Category, Tacurong National High School’s Team iRead emerged victorious, claiming the 1st place and further highlighting the promising potential of young innovators in the region.
The winners of the Hackathon will have the opportunity to join Cohort 3 of the STEP APP TBI Incubation Program. This prestigious program offers invaluable resources, mentorship, and support, propelling budding startups towards success and sustainability. Additionally, the winners will get the chance to represent the Province of Sultan Kudarat in the Regional and National Hackathon Competitions.
