Sultan Kudarat State University recently concluded the “Training-Workshop on Principles of Teaching and High-Quality Assessment (AI-Powered Teaching and Assessment Techniques)” held on November 19–20, 2025 at the Graduate School Multipurpose Hall, EJC Montilla, Tacurong City.
The two-day face-to-face engagement gathered SKSU Program Chairpersons from various colleges and campuses to strengthen their instructional leadership in the era of artificial intelligence.The sessions were facilitated by Prof. Michael Kennedy G. Camarao, Director for Instruction, and Dr. Hassanal P. Abusama, Director for Admission and Records, who both shared grounded, practical strategies on leveraging AI tools to enhance lesson delivery, assessment design, and feedback mechanisms. Through lectures, hands-on workshops, and collaborative planning sessions, participants explored innovative, AI-powered approaches aligned with outcomes-based education and 21st-century skills.
This capability-building initiative was organized by the Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs, headed by Dr. Marites B. Java, under the flagship SKSU i-TEACH Program. The training-workshop affirmed SKSU’s commitment to nurturing empowered program chairpersons who can champion high-quality, technology-enhanced teaching and assessment across the university system.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the activity directly advances SDG 4: Quality Education by capacitating academic leaders to design inclusive, learner-centered, and evidence-based instruction, while also supporting SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the responsible use of AI in higher education. By fostering collaboration among program chairpersons and university leaders, the training further contributes to SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, ensuring that SKSU’s innovations in teaching and assessment serve as a shared pathway toward sustainable and transformative education for all.
