SKSU Receives Dual Recognition for Governance Partnership and Gender Advocacy

Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), under the leadership of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, EdD, received two major awards during the PASIDUNGOG 2025 Celebration held on November 11, 2025, at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, City of Koronadal, Province of South Cotabato. The recognitions highlight the university’s active role in promoting good governance and gender equality in the region.

The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region XII presented SKSU with a Plaque of Appreciation for its invaluable support and collaboration as a development partner in implementing programs, projects, and activities that advance local excellence, peace, development, and people empowerment in SOCCSKSARGEN.

SKSU also received the Gender and Development (GAD) Seal Certification from the Regional Gender and Development Committee (RGADC) XII for upholding the tenets of Republic Act 9710, or the Magna Carta of Women. The certification, valid until September 30, 2028, affirms the university’s commitment to gender-responsive governance and inclusive institutional policies. The awards were received on behalf of the university by Prof. Rashida A. Asis, Director for the Gender and Development Office, and Prof. King Alizon M. Camral.

These achievements underscore SKSU’s contribution to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), reflecting the university’s dedication to fostering sustainable and inclusive development under the guidance of Dr. Molao.
