Delegates from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) recently visited Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) campuses in Isulan, Lutayan, and ACCESS, highlighting the deepening partnership between the two institutions and exploring opportunities for academic and cultural collaboration.
The UTeM delegation, composed of Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Jeefferie Bin Abd Razak, Deputy Dean of the School of Postgraduate Studies; Dr. Mohd Rizuan Bin Baharon, Deputy Dean for Research and Postgraduate Studies; and Dr. Nor Aiza Moketar, Software Engineering Specialist, was warmly welcomed by SKSU officials and local leaders.
The visit began with a tour of the ACCESS Campus, where the delegates familiarized themselves with SKSU’s Graduate Studies and academic programs. They then proceeded to the Isulan Campus, where they attended the inauguration of the new UTeM Learning Center, a state-of-the-art facility designed to foster collaborative learning, research, and international academic exchange. The visit concluded at the Lutayan Campus, where delegates visited the Halal Slaughterhouse, an accredited facility that supports local farmers and promotes halal food production.
After the campus visits, the delegates conducted courtesy calls to local government units, including the Municipality of Columbio, where they met with Municipal Mayor Hon. Amirh M. Musali; and the Municipality of Lutayan, where Board Member Soriel Lib-atin and Mayor Datu Yassin Mangudadatu welcomed them. These interactions strengthened ties between SKSU, local governments, and international partners, emphasizing a shared commitment to education and community development.
The delegation explored tourist destinations in Sultan Kudarat, including The Grand La Palmera Mountain Ridge and Qetsiyah Eco Park. SKSU extended its gratitude to the Provincial Tourism Officers, whose professionalism and guidance ensured that the collaboration extended beyond academia, connecting education with culture, heritage, and sustainable tourism.
The visit reinforced SKSU’s dedication to fostering international partnerships, promoting cultural exchange, and linking academic initiatives with regional development priorities. This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
