Sultan Kudarat State University culminated the 2021 National Women Month on March 30, 2021 at Multi-Purpose Hall, Administration Building, ACCESS Campus, EJC Montilla, Tacurong City.
SKSU centered its celebration on the theme, “Handog para sa mga Juana ng SKSU”. It was a whole day celebration packed with various activities, such as zumba para kay Juana cum launching of Belly good for health an activity of Gender and Development office and University Health Division. A Quiz bowl contest was conducted that stirs the awareness of the participants, it was facilitated by Director Susie Daza, the GAD Director and Atty. Lenie Ann C. Cerdana, Dean of the College of Law.
To show health concern to women, SKSU Health Division, with its Director Grace Pedrola, RN, conducted a free random Blood Sugar test, waist circumference and Body Mass Index checking and evaluation. Formal Program was set to make the occasion more meaningful. It was graced by a brilliant, creative and successful woman, Mrs. Deanna Terania Grino.
The day was made more inspiring as successful women in the university namely; Dr.Ruby Solomon Hechanova, Dr. Julie Escarlan Albano, Dr. Hubaida Aminola Mamalinta, and Dr. Dolorcita Ebona Pauya were invited for a talk show to give more inspiration to all women, their stories indeed captivated the live and online audiences.
Awards were also given to the outstanding and self-less women in the university that made significant and remarkable contributions.
The 2021 National Women’s Month Celebration serves as a tribute, a platform, and a call to action that highlights the extraordinary roles of ordinary Juanas in the society as trailblazers and harbingers of change. This celebration is also a venue to discuss and address the issues that women continue to face so empowerment can be fully achieved. The campaign is also a call for concrete, sustainable, and inclusive actions towards gender equality.
