Tacurong City — Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) successfully hosted the ASEAN 2026 Community Engagement Series and Public Service Fair at the SKSU Gymnasium on August 20, 2026, bringing together university stakeholders, government agencies, and community partners in a collaborative initiative aimed at strengthening public service delivery, awareness, and community empowerment.
The activity was spearheaded by the Office of International Affairs in partnership with the SKSU College of Law and the SKSU College of Medicine, highlighting the university’s commitment to advancing meaningful community engagement aligned with regional cooperation and inclusive development goals.
The event featured the participation of key external government partners, including the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP), Home Development Mutual Fund (PAG-IBIG Fund), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Social Security System (SSS), and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).
Through the Public Service Fair, students, faculty and staff were provided access to various government services, consultations, and information sessions. Partner agencies offered assistance and guidance on matters concerning labor and employment opportunities, social protection programs, healthcare services, financial security, migrant workers’ concerns, indigenous peoples’ rights, and electoral awareness.
The successful conduct of the event underscored the importance of partnerships among academic institutions, government organizations, and communities in advancing responsive and accessible public services for all.
