Rodrigo Jamorabon, paid a courtesy visit to SKSU President Atty. Cyrus E. Torreña, DPA, MNSA on September 1, 2026, at the Office of the University President to explore opportunities for stronger cooperation and support for cooperative development.

The meeting brought together the SKSU-MPC Board of Directors and CTUC leadership to discuss ways to strengthen cooperative business models, explore potential joint ventures, and enhance the delivery of cooperative services across the university community.

President Torreña welcomed the delegation and expressed his support for the cooperative’s upcoming development initiatives. Demonstrating his commitment to the cooperative movement, the University President also expressed his intention to officially become a member of SKSU-MPC.

President Torreña likewise expressed his support for the cooperative’s ongoing ticketing services, recognizing their value and convenience to the university community. The engagement also opened opportunities for closer coordination among the SKSU administration, the university cooperative, and local cooperative networks such as CTUC.

The strengthened partnership is expected to expand access to cooperative services and enhance economic benefits for SKSU faculty, staff, and students, while supporting the continued growth of cooperative enterprise within and beyond the university community. The initiative aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through the promotion of inclusive economic opportunities and stronger institutional and cooperative partnerships.
