The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office No. XII – Sultan Kudarat Field Office and Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) formalized their partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing ceremony held on September 1, 2026, at the Kings Hall, Provincial Capitol in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, strengthening efforts to expand employment opportunities for students, graduates, and local jobseekers.
The agreement, signed at 9:00 a.m., was led by Mechelle O. Ignacio, Chief Administrative Officer and Head of the DOLE Sultan Kudarat Field Office, and Atty. Cyrus E. Torreña, DPA, MNSA, University President of SKSU. The partnership provides for the formal designation of a Job Placement Officer within SKSU, serving as a key link between the university, DOLE, and the employment sector.
Through the partnership, DOLE XII and SKSU aim to strengthen inter-agency coordination and facilitate more accessible employment and career support services. The initiative will help connect SKSU students and graduates with job opportunities while extending employment assistance to jobseekers and local constituents across Sultan Kudarat.
The partnership reflects the shared commitment of DOLE XII and SKSU to create stronger pathways from education to employment, aligning with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through expanded access to employment opportunities and career support, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals through strengthened collaboration between government and higher education institutions in advancing inclusive and sustainable workforce development.
