Sultan Kudarat State University, along with KaMSu (Katutubong Mag-aaral ng SKSU) is one with the nation in the celebration of 2021 Indigenous Peoples Month and 24th IPRA Commemoration of National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) from October 1 to 31, 2021 with the theme” The Journey of Indigenous Peoples for Genuine Recognition, Respect and Self-Governance”. The celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Month every October is guided by the Proclamation No. 1906, series of 2009 declaring the month of October of every year as National Indigenous Peoples Month.
The said celebration was initiated by Prof. Jaime Boy U. Ngag Jr., MAT, IP Coordinator, in collaboration with Dr. Julie E. Albano, Vice President for RD & E as part of the research and extension services, and of course with the undying support of ever dynamic University President, Dr. Rolando F. Hechanova, RPAE, PhD.
The main goal of this endeavor is to live out and strengthen the University’s extension services towards Indigenous Peoples in attaining genuine recognition, respect and self-governance in the province of Sultan Kudarat.
