SKSU College of Teacher Education ACCESS Campus achieved great success by being hailed as the overall champion in the recently concluded 2024 Science and Technology Youth Encampment (STYLE) held at Rio Villanuevo Water Resort, Brgy. Tambong Malaki, Indang, Cavite, hosted by Cavite State University on April 17-19, 2024. Ms. Grace Dignadice and Mr. Jaylord Mariano secured the First-Place spots in the Essay Writing and Photo-Essay contests, respectively. Additionally, Ms. Mariela Shane Dasalla was placed Second Runner-up (Ms. Technology) in the Search for the Ambassadress of 2024 STYLE of the Philippine Consortium for Science, Mathematics, and Technology (PCMST) with the theme: “Unifying the Young Advocates of Science, Mathematics, and Technology for Nation-Building”.
Participants in these competitions were accompanied and coached by the SKSU Chapter coordinator, Dr. Christine P. Abo, along with Science and Mathematics instructors Dr. Anamarie Valdez, Prof. Allan Paculanan, and Mr. Welard Jay Vicera.
Furthermore, the event was attended by various member state universities and colleges of the Philippine Consortium for Science, Mathematics, and Technology from across the Philippines, including Technological University of the Philippines, Batangas State University – TNEU, Kalinga State University, Bulacan State University, Cavite State University, Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, and many others.
This achievement would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the College Dean, Dr. Christine P. Abo, OIC President, Dr. Jesusa Ortouste, VPAA, Dr. Ernie Cerado, VPFARG, Dr. Reynaldo Dalayap, and our seven BSED Science and Mathematics student participants who put in tremendous effort for this remarkable feat.
Indeed, SKSU proves to be not only trailblazers of change but also generators of solutions.
