SKSU-College of Law Holds Inaugural Pre-Commencement and Hooding Ceremony for Masikhay Class of 2024

On June 24, 2024, the Sultan Kudarat State University College of Law celebrated a historic milestone with its first-ever pre-commencement and hooding ceremony for the Masikhay Class of 2024. The event, held at Carlitos Hotel, marked a significant achievement for the 26 candidates graduating with their Juris Doctor degrees.

The hooding ceremony, a symbolic recognition of the graduates’ accomplishments, saw each candidate receive their academic hoods from their parents, spouses, and closest family members. This intimate act underscored the support and encouragement these future lawyers received from their loved ones throughout their rigorous academic journey.

Atty. Sandra Mae Bonrustro, the Associate Dean of the College of Law, warmly welcomed the graduates, their families, and friends, as well as university key officials and esteemed guests. Her opening remarks set a tone of celebration and pride, acknowledging the hard work and dedication of the Masikhay Class of 2024.

Atty. Lennie Ann C. Cerdana, LlM, delivered a heartfelt congratulatory message, extolling the graduates’ achievements and recognizing the sacrifices they made to reach this pivotal moment. She emphasized the resilience and determination required to complete their legal education and encouraged them to carry these qualities into their professional lives.

OIC President Dr. Jesusa D. Ortuoste was represented by Dr. Reynaldo H. Dalayap, Jr., PhD, the Vice President for Finance, Administration, and Resource Generation, who delivered an inspiring message for the candidates for graduation.

The highlight of the event was the keynote speech delivered by the Honorable Provincial Governor, Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu, JD. Governor Mangudadatu expressed immense pride in the new batch of law graduates, emphasizing the significance of their accomplishment for both the university and the province. He highlighted the importance of their future contributions to the legal profession and the community, reinforcing the university’s role in producing capable and dedicated lawyers.

The ceremony concluded with a sense of achievement and anticipation for the future, as the Masikhay Class of 2024 prepares to embark on their legal careers. The event not only celebrated their academic success but also underscored the vital role of family and community support in their journey.
