Tacurong City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), through its Philippine Nursing Students’ Association (PNSA) chapter, proudly took part in the first-ever Region XII PNSA Congress held at Notre Dame of Tacurong College. The landmark event brought together nursing students from ten schools and universities across the SOCCSKSARGEN region, providing a vibrant platform for academic exchange, leadership development, and professional collaboration. Centered on the theme “SOXceed: Connecting Hearts, Inspiring Hands, Shaping Tomorrow’s Nurses Through Unity and Purpose,” the congress underscored the shared commitment of future nurses to excellence and compassionate service.

The SKSU-PNSA delegates actively participated in various academic and skills-based competitions, demonstrating strong teamwork, dedication, and preparation. Their involvement highlighted not only their competence and passion for the nursing profession but also contributed to enhancing their clinical knowledge, critical thinking, and readiness to face real-world healthcare challenges. Guided by their adviser, Erika Gayle Maglasang, RN, and with the full support of the university, the SKSU-PNSA delegation delivered an outstanding performance throughout the event. Competing alongside other institutions in the region, the SKSU chapter emerged as the 1st Runner-Up in the overall rankings, an impressive achievement that reflects their discipline, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. This recognition further affirms SKSU’s role in shaping highly competent and competitive nursing students.

This participation was made possible through the strong support of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, whose continued commitment to student development and academic excellence enables SKSU students to engage in meaningful regional and national platforms. This recognition further affirms SKSU’s role in shaping highly competent and competitive nursing students.

Through this, SKSU reaffirms its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). This highlights the University’s dedication to producing competent healthcare professionals, promoting inclusive and high-quality education, and fostering collaboration and unity among nursing institutions across the region.
