Tacurong City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) marked another significant milestone in its journey toward digital transformation and institutional innovation as the Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) officially launched the Cash-Lite Campus at SKSU on May 8, 2026, making the university the first higher education institution in Region XII to implement a Cash-Lite Campus initiative. The launching ceremony symbolized SKSU’s strong commitment to modernization, efficiency, and accessible digital financial services for students, faculty, employees, and stakeholders. The Cash-Lite Campus initiative aims to promote secure, convenient, and technology-driven financial transactions within the university through digital payment systems and cashless services.
Present during the launch was University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, who expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Landbank for choosing SKSU as the pioneering university in Region XII to implement the Cash-Lite Campus initiative. In his message, Dr. Molao highlighted that the initiative will greatly benefit the entire university community by providing more efficient, secure, and convenient financial transactions. Joining the University President were the University Key Officials, who collectively manifested their support for the successful implementation of the initiative.
Representing Landbank of the Philippines (LBP) during the event was AVP Elmer E. Europa, South Mindanao Branches Group Head of Landbank Davao City, together with the Region XII LBP Branch Managers. Their presence underscored Landbank’s continuing commitment to advancing financial inclusion and digital banking solutions among educational institutions in the region. Also present during the launching ceremony was Mr. John Paul L. Capili, Regional Economic Affairs Staff of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Mindanao Regional Office, whose attendance further highlighted the collaborative efforts among government institutions in promoting digital financial ecosystems and cashless transactions in the country.
Special recognition is also given to the LBP Isulan Branch headed by Dr. Leonita M. Galenzoga, Branch Manager and Dr. Florlyn Mae Remegio, University Scholarship Chairperson, for spearheading the successful conduct of the Cash-Lite Campus initiative, from the extensive pre-event preparations and coordination activities to the implementation of the launching program itself. The LBP Isulan branch likewise expressed its commitment to continuously conduct post-launching activities, orientations, and engagements to ensure that the majority of the SKSU community will fully embrace and maximize the benefits of the Cash-Lite Campus program.
The successful launching of the Cash-Lite Campus initiative reflects SKSU’s proactive efforts to adapt to technological advancements and strengthen partnerships that contribute to institutional development and public service innovation. As the first Cash-Lite Campus in Region XII, SKSU continues to position itself as a leading institution in embracing digital transformation and sustainable university governance.
Through this initiative, SKSU reaffirms its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by promoting innovation, digital inclusion, and collaborative partnerships that drive sustainable development and institutional progress.
