A New Frontier in Education: SKSU Inks Historic MOA for Lambayong Campus and Petroleum Engineering Program

Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat – Marking a significant milestone in its commitment to accessible and industry-responsive education, Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) formally entered into a series of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with key partners on March 17, 2026, for the establishment of the SKSU Lambayong Campus, which will offer the Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering program. The MOA signing ceremony brought together university officials and representatives from the Local Government Unit of Lambayong, the Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat, and SK Liguasan Oil and Gas Corporation (SKL Gas). The collaboration underscores a shared vision of fostering local development through education, innovation, and industry linkage.

The activity was spearheaded by University President Dr. Samson L. Molao and Hon. Francis Eric E. Recinto, whose leadership and strong partnership paved the way for the realization of the new campus. Both leaders emphasized the importance of investing in education as a foundation for sustainable growth and community empowerment. Also in attendance were industry leaders General Noel L. Felicia and Engr. Emmanuel Tamayo, whose presence highlighted the strong support of the energy sector for the university’s initiative. Their participation signifies the alignment of the academic program with real-world industry demands and opportunities. The MOA signing was also carried out in full support of Provincial Governor Hon. Datu Pax Ali S. Mangudadatu and former Governor Hon. Suharto T. Mangudadatu, underscoring the provincial leadership’s commitment to advancing education, strengthening local capacity, and driving inclusive economic growth in Sultan Kudarat.

The establishment of the SKSU Lambayong Campus is envisioned to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in the energy sector, particularly in petroleum engineering, as the region continues to explore its natural resource potential.
