CHED RQAT Conducts Evaluation Visit for Agriculture Programs at Sultan Kudarat State University – ACCESS Campus

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) conducted an evaluation visit on July 26, 2024, at Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) ACCESS Campus for the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) and Bachelor in Agricultural Technology (BAT) programs.

Dr. Ernie C. Cerado, Vice President for Academic Affairs, warmly welcomed the CHED RQAT team, which comprised Dr. Samsia A. Ibrahim, Dr. Joyce D. Esrael, and Dr. Genaro P. Andres, CESE. The assessment visit aimed to evaluate the quality and standards of the university’s agriculture programs and ensure compliance with CHED’s rigorous criteria.

Dr. Esther S. Lancita, the Chairperson for the BSA and BAT programs, provided an overview of the activity, outlining the objectives and significance of the assessment. Following this, Ms. Dayanara introduced the university’s key officials, highlighting their roles in upholding the institution’s academic excellence. Dr. Marissa C. Hitalia then introduced the faculty members of the BSA and BAT programs, emphasizing their dedication and contributions to the university’s mission.

Throughout the day, the RQAT team meticulously evaluated various aspects of the programs, including curriculum, faculty qualifications, facilities, and student support services. Their findings were later presented to the university administration, highlighting both strengths and areas for improvement.

In response, OIC President Jesusa D. Ortuoste, PhD underscored the importance of the RQAT evaluation in the continuous improvement of SKSU’s academic offerings. She assured the assessment team of the SKSU’s commitment to fully comply with the findings and implement necessary enhancements.

“We are committed to upholding the highest standards of education and ensuring that our students receive the quality education they deserve,” Dr. Ortuoste stated, reflecting the university’s dedication to academic excellence and student success.

The successful conduct of the CHED RQAT evaluation marks a significant step forward for Sultan Kudarat State University as it continues to strive for excellence in its agriculture programs, preparing future leaders in the agricultural sector.
