Non-Teaching Personnel Engage in Comprehensive Training Program to Enhance Professional Skills

In a proactive initiative to enhance the professional skills of its non-teaching personnel, Sultan Kudarat State University, through the office of the Human Resource Management Office in coordination with the Academic Affairs Division, successfully organized a four-day training program covering various crucial aspects of career development. The sessions included Technical Writing and Communication, Job Redefining, Reskilling and Upskilling, Service Stewardship, Customer Relations Management, and Innovative Leadership.

The first day, February 14, 2024, saw participants delving into the nuances of Technical Writing and Communication at the Multi-Purpose Hall, 3rd Floor Administration building. Speakers Lynette G. Peniero, the University Board Secretary, and Ms. Jenevieve Lumbu-an, an esteemed English faculty member, shared their expertise, providing valuable insights and strategies for effective communication in a professional setting.

On the second day, February 15, 2024, the focus shifted to Job Redefining, Reskilling, and Upskilling. Dr. Ruby S. Hechanova, a retired faculty member and distinguished researcher, along with Dr. Noraisa K. Yasin, HRMDO Director, led the engaging sessions, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of how to adapt and grow in a rapidly evolving professional landscape.

The third leg of the program, held on February 21, 2024, catered specifically to frontline services employees. The seminar on Service Stewardship and Customer Relations Management took center stage, with Mr. John Michael P. Castino, PhD, a human resource specialist from DepEd General Santos City, sharing practical approaches and strategies to enhance service quality and customer relations.

Concluding the series, the last session on February 22, 2024, focused on Innovative Leadership, exclusively designed for administrative officers V and up. The distinguished speaker, Ms. Joana Grace B. Lapore, Provincial Information Officer of Sarangani, imparted insights on modern leadership strategies, fostering an environment of innovation and adaptability.

Participants expressed their gratitude for the well-organized and insightful training sessions, acknowledging the institution’s commitment to providing continuous learning opportunities. Such initiatives not only equip non-teaching personnel with practical skills but also contribute to an overall enhancement of organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
