SKSU joins AACCUP’s Accreditors Barkadahan 2022

The SKSU accreditors, spearheaded by President Samson Molao, attended the AACCUP’s Accreditors Barkadahan 2022 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Pasay City, on October 19-20, 2022. The team comprised Dr. Jesusa Ortuoste (VP-Academic Affairs), Dr. Dolorcita Pauya (Faculty Regent), Prof. Lowell Espinosa (Chairperson, University Accreditation), Dr. Adrian Protacio, Dr. Carmela Camila Urbano, Dr. Adonis Besa, Prof. Edwin Cortejo, Prof. Pol Ian Bogador, Dr. Christine Abo, Dr. Elmer Buenavides and Prof. Jade Buenavides.

The national-wide activity was well-attended by more or less 400 participants from various SUCs headed by their respective Presidents. The AACCUP Board of Trustees and the founder, Dr. Manuel Corpuz, were present, which stirred the participants’ excitement.

Hon. J. Prospero De Vera was the Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker. He emphasized the need for transnational partnerships and linkages, the inevitable use of blended learning and relevant modalities in teaching and learning higher education, and the continuous enhancement and development of the delivery of quality education. Dr. Edgardo Tulin, AACCUP Chair/President, provided the overview of the accreditation survey visits of programs and institutions. The BOT and participants honored Dr. Manuel Corpus, the Father of AACCUP. He narrated unforgettable stories and substantive information, the challenges, accomplishments, and how the AACCUP elevated the quality of higher education among SUCs.

Senior Accreditors like Dr. Sanjay Claudio, Dr. Maria Glenda De Lara, and Dr. Anita C. Sornito presented their learning experiences on accrediting programs and institutions as tools to enhance accreditation survey visits. Meanwhile, SUC Presidents such as Dr. Feliciana Jacoba, Dr. Manuel Muhi, Dr. Emily Arangote, Dr. Joy Capistrano, and Dr. Charisma Ututalum shared their knowledge on the challenges in institutional and program accreditation. Dr. Milabel Ho, Executive Director, shared the consolidating plans for accreditation survey visits. It was followed by the open forum, which was actively participated. The socio-cultural competitions were conducted, which strengthened the relationships and camaraderie among the participants.

During the closing program, Dr. Myrna Mallari, former AACCUP Chair/President, provided a short message. Then came the giving of impressions by selected participants from NCR, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. Mindanao was represented by Dr. Dolorcita E. Pauya, the SKSU Faculty Regent. It was followed by the announcement of winners by Dr. Dexter R. Buted, the Treasurer of the AACCUP, and a word of thanks was delivered by Dr. Alona M. Belarga, a member of the Board of Trustees.
