Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) President Atty. Cyrus E. Torreña, DPA, MNSA, conducted a series of courtesy visits with local chief executives across the province to strengthen partnerships and explore opportunities for education, research, and community development.
In the Municipality of Senator Ninoy Aquino, President Torreña met with Mayor Rafael George L. Flauta III to discuss the possible reopening of the SKSU Senator Ninoy Aquino Campus, which ceased operations in 2013. The initiative aims to bring higher education closer to local communities, particularly Indigenous Peoples and students from geographically distant areas.
Meanwhile, discussions with Mayor Ronan Eugene C. Garcia of Kalamansig focused on possible research collaborations in marine resource management and coffee production, maximizing the municipality’s coastal and agricultural resources.
President Torreña also paid a courtesy visit to Tacurong City Mayor Lina O. Montilla, where they discussed the continued partnership between SKSU and the city government in areas of student development, community engagement, and public service.
The visits reflect SKSU’s commitment to strengthening collaboration with local government units and developing initiatives responsive to the needs of communities across Sultan Kudarat.
