Sultan Kudarat State University ranked 180th out of 366 Universities/Colleges in the Philippines based on the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities (July 2023 Edition). The University leaped 51 steps from its 231st place in July 2022 Edition.

The Ranking Web or Webometrics is an academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions. This ranking is published every six months by the Cybermetrics Lab (Spanish National Research Council, CSIC).

This ranking aims to provide multidimensional and updated information about the performance of universities from all over the world based on their web presence and impact.

Impact rank, openness rank, and excellence rank are the three different rankings that make up cumulative rankings. These ranks were all outsourced through different platforms.

The visibility of a university’s web content, as indicated by access links to its webpages, determines the impact rank. 50% of the final score comes from this measure, which is outsourced from Ahrefs Majestic.

The openness rank, meanwhile, is considered by top-cited researchers, where it accounts for 10% of the total citation count by counting the amount of citations based on Google Scholar profiles.

The top 10% most referenced articles across all 27 fields, as compiled by Scimago over a five-year period (2019 to 2023), are taken into consideration to establish the excellence rank. This contributes around 40% to the overall Webometrics ranking.
