SKSU Secures All GACPA Scholarship Slots in Mindanao as GACPA Releases Financial Assistance for BSA Graduates

Tacurong City – The Government Association of Certified Public Accountants (GACPA) reaffirmed its commitment to advancing academic excellence by releasing scholarship assistance on April 28, 2026 to selected Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) graduates of Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU). The financial assistance is intended to support their preparation for the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE). This initiative stems from the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signed on January 9, 2026, which aims to assist deserving accountancy graduates by easing financial burdens and enabling them to focus on achieving their goal of becoming licensed professionals.

The scholarship beneficiaries include Ms. Kimberly Q. Bezar, Ms. Nasrina M. Dangenso, Ms. Leann Mykka H. Calimbo, and Ms. Adrianna Kythe F. Pendon. Each grantee received ₱20,000 to help cover expenses related to their CPALE review, providing them with essential financial support as they prepare for the licensure examination.

Present during the release were University President Dr. Samson L. Molao and Ms. Helena L. Valdez, CPA, GACPA National Director for Mindanao, who represented Atty. Eugenio R. Dizon, GACPA National President, and Ms. Margie V. Oficial, Chair of the Scholarship Committee. Also in attendance were Ms. Floreen Marie O. Verdad and Mr. Reidel A. Floresca, GACPA Davao Chapter President and Secretary, respectively, Arianne Joy A. Purazo-Duque, CPA, John Carlo L. Cacarta, Jayson A. Falle, PhD OSAS Director and Florlyn Mae C. Remegio, PhD Scholarship Chairperson, who played key roles in establishing and facilitating this partnership. Their presence underscored the strong collaboration between SKSU and GACPA in fostering academic advancement and professional development among aspiring accountants.

President Molao expressed his sincere appreciation to GACPA for its continued support and confidence in SKSU. He emphasized that initiatives such as this scholarship program significantly contribute to the university’s mission of producing highly skilled, globally competitive, and ethically grounded professionals.

The release of this scholarship underscores SKSU’s dedication to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Through financial assistance for BS Accountancy graduates, the initiative fosters inclusive and equitable access to quality education and supports lifelong learning opportunities and highlights the value of strong institutional partnerships in enhancing educational achievements and advancing professional growth.
