In a grand celebration marking the 30th anniversary of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), CHED Regional Office XII (CHEDROXII) hosted the 2024 Gabi ng Parangal on May 29, 2024, at The Farm @ Carpenter Hill, Koronadal City. This event brought together various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), and Local Government Institutions (LGIs) from across the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.
Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) stood out, receiving the following awards:
- Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of being a Top Performing School in the Nursing Licensure Examination on May 2023
- Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of excellence in education and dedication to academic achievement for producing topnotchers from 2020- 2024
- Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of its outstanding achievement of obtaining accreditation for some of its academic programs
- SKSU Isulan Campus – Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of its outstanding achievement of obtaining accreditation for most of its academic programs
- SKSU Tacurong Campus – Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of its outstanding achievement of obtaining accreditation for most of its academic programs
- SKSU Bagumbayan Campus – Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of its outstanding achievement of obtaining accreditation for most of its academic programs
- SKSU Palimbang Campus – Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of its outstanding achievement of obtaining accreditation for most of its academic programs
- SKSU Kalamansig Campus – Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of its outstanding achievement of obtaining accreditation for most of its academic programs
- SKSU Lutayan Campus – Plaque of Recognition, in recognition of its outstanding achievement of obtaining accreditation for some of its academic programs
These awards recognized the University’s outstanding achievements and steadfast commitment to excellence in education. Additionally, these accolades celebrate SKSU’s efforts to maintain high standards in delivering its mission to the broader community. Dr. Jesusa D. Ortuoste, OIC President, and Dr. Ernie C. Cerado proudly accepted the awards on behalf of the university’s various offices and campuses.
The evening was further highlighted by an inspirational message from CHEDROXII Regional Director, Dr. Nelia A. Alibin, and an anniversary address by Koronadal City Mayor, Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena.
In addition to recognizing institutional achievements, the event also celebrated individual excellence. The achievements of CHEDROXII throughout the year were showcased, including the recognition of topnotchers in various professional board examinations from 2021 to May 2024. Among the honorees was Ms. Sheen Eljay B. Bandalan, a Batch 2023 graduate of Bachelor in Elementary Education in SKSU, who placed 9th in the recent Licensure Examination for Teachers – Elementary Level.
The 2024 Gabi ng Parangal was a night of recognition and celebration, highlighting the significant contributions and achievements within the higher education sector in the SOCCSKSARGEN Region.
