General Santos City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) participated in the Mindanao Clean Energy Forum 2026, held on October 22–23, 2026, at Greenleaf Hotel. Representing the University were University Student Government (USG) President Mr. Bon Angelo A. Defino and the USG officers, together with the engineering students from SKSU Isulan Campus.
The forum brought together stakeholders from the government, industry, electric cooperatives, financial institutions, academe, civil society, and the private sector to discuss renewable energy development and the transition toward a more sustainable energy system in Mindanao.
With the theme “Harnessing Renewables, Securing Mindanao’s Energy Future: Pathways to Unlocking Reforms and Investments in Renewable Energy,” the event highlighted the importance of advancing clean energy initiatives and strengthening collaboration among sectors to address emerging energy and environmental challenges.
The participation of SKSU students provided valuable opportunities to learn about renewable energy, explore its applications, and understand its role in sustainable development. Through initiatives like this, SKSU continues to encourage student engagement in energy sustainability and environmental responsibility, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable future for Mindanao.
