Virtual MOU Signing Strengthens Academic Collaboration Between SKSU and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI)

In a significant stride towards enhancing academic collaboration and fostering global partnerships, Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) embarked on a momentous journey through a virtual ceremonial signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on May 3, 2024.

The event, conducted remotely due to prevailing circumstances, marked the beginning of a promising alliance between the two esteemed institutions. The MOU signifies a commitment to mutual cooperation and joint initiatives in various academic domains, laying the foundation for fruitful collaboration in the years ahead.

Among the distinguished delegates representing SKSU were OIC President Dr. Jesusa D. Ortuoste, VP RDE Dr. Mary Lynn Magbanua, Director for Instruction Dr. Marites B. Java, Chairperson for International Affairs Prof. Evora H. Dioneza, CTE Dean Dr. Christine P. Abo, Futures Thinking Project Leader Prof. Michael Kennedy G. Camarao, and other esteemed study leaders. From UPI, notable figures including Rector Dr. H.M. Solehuddin, Head of the International Program Development of International Affairs Dr. Nia Nafisah, and Director for Directorate Prof. Ahmad Bukhori Muslim graced the virtual ceremony, alongside UPI Project Leaders.

The collaboration between SKSU and UPI is poised to explore and develop synergies across multiple fronts. Three key areas have been identified for collaboration, namely Futures Thinking, Student-Teacher Exchange, and Research and Extension. These strategic focus areas hold the promise of enriching academic experiences, fostering cross-cultural understanding, and driving impactful research outcomes.

The partnership’s emphasis on Futures Thinking underscores a commitment to forward-looking education and research practices, ensuring graduates are equipped with the skills and insights necessary to navigate an ever-evolving global landscape. Additionally, initiatives such as student-teacher exchanges will facilitate cultural immersion and knowledge sharing, enriching the educational experience for participants from both institutions.

Research and Extension activities under the collaboration are expected to yield innovative solutions to pressing societal challenges, leveraging the collective expertise and resources of SKSU and UPI.
