Honoring Women, Advancing Equality: SKSU Concludes 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration

Tacurong City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) successfully conducted the Culmination Program for the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration with the theme “Lead life the Babaylans, Filipinas!” on March 31, 2026, at the SKSU ACCESS Campus, marking a meaningful conclusion to a month-long series of activities dedicated to honoring women’s contributions and advancing gender equality. The event brought together university officials, faculty members, staff, and invited guests in a unified celebration that highlighted the importance of empowering women and strengthening Gender and Development (GAD) initiatives within the academic community and beyond.

University President Dr. Samson L. Molao graced the occasion, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where women are given equal opportunities to excel in leadership, education, and service. In his inspirational message, he expressed his appreciation for the women of the university, stating, “To all women in our university and our lives, you are definitely the pillars of our strength, the sources of our wisdom, and the anchors of the stability that we have.” His message resonated strongly with the audience, drawing recognition for the invaluable role women play both within the institution and in society.

The program also featured Hon. Bai Rihan Mangudadatu-Sakaluran as the guest speaker, who was represented by Hon. Janice Dollete. Delivering a message on behalf of the honored guest, Hon. Dollete conveyed strong support for women-centered programs and highlighted the vital role women play in governance, community leadership, and nation-building.

A key highlight of the event was the presentation by the resource speaker, Dr. Shilrose D. Saldiviva, MD. Her discussion focused on kidney health, including the causes and prevention of kidney problems, available treatments, and the importance of dialysis for patients with severe conditions. The session provided valuable medical insights and raised awareness among participants about the importance of early detection, proper care, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent kidney-related diseases.

The successful conduct of the 2026 National Women’s Month Culmination stands as a testament to the university’s unwavering dedication to fostering an environment where women are empowered, valued, and given equal opportunities to thrive. It also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality), as it promotes health awareness, empowers women, and advocates inclusivity.
