Pasay City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) actively participated in the Training-Workshop on Future-Proof and Future-Ready Scientific Writing for High-Impact Journal Publications, organized by the Asian Society of Teachers for Research (ASTR). Held on March 26–28, 2026, at Shella Podz Hotel, the three-day event equipped educators and researchers with advanced strategies for producing publishable manuscripts that meet international journal standards. Representing SKSU were Dr. Anesa P. Mangindra and Dr. Rizalyn B. Cudera, both from the College of Teacher Education.

The intensive workshop featured expert-led sessions on AI-assisted drafting, ethical data visualization, and emerging publication trends such as open-access mandates and impact factor metrics. Participants engaged in interactive modules on structuring abstracts, developing interdisciplinary discussions, and identifying and avoiding predatory journals. Hands-on activities included proposal writing, peer review exercises, and the revision of individual research abstracts. A key plenary session on “future-ready” publishing presented case studies from the fields of education and social sciences, emphasizing adaptability to technological advancements such as machine learning in literature reviews while maintaining the integrity of the author’s voice. The SKSU delegates contributed local perspectives on publishing mixed-methods qualitative research and built connections with fellow researchers nationwide, opening opportunities for collaborative publications.

This active participation would not have been possible without the steadfast support of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, whose leadership continues to strengthen the institution’s commitment to research excellence and global academic engagement.

SKSU’s active participation strongly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, specifically SDG 4 (Quality Education), as it enhances the competencies of educators and researchers through continuous professional development and the advancement of knowledge.
