Tacurong City – Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) marked a historic milestone as it formally received its ISO 9001:2015 Certification during the Certificate Awarding Ceremony h on June 18, 2026, affirming the university’s commitment to quality management, continuous improvement, and excellence in public service.
The ceremony was graced by Mr. Julian B. Loquinario of SQC Certification Services Pvt. Ltd., who delivered the keynote message highlighting the significance of maintaining internationally recognized quality management standards in higher education institutions. He also formally handed over the ISO 9001:2015 Certificate to University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, together with the university’s Vice Presidents and Campus Directors.
In his acceptance and commitment speech, University President Dr. Samson L. Molao expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the entire SKSU community for their dedication, hard work, and collective commitment that made the ISO 9001:2015 certification possible. He emphasized that the recognition is a testament to the university’s unwavering pursuit of quality education, efficient service delivery, and institutional excellence. Dr. Molao stated that “This certificate is not mine, it belongs to every faculty member who embraced change even when it was uncomfortable. It belongs to every non-teaching personnel who painstakingly prepared records and complied with standards. It belongs to our Program Chairs, Deans, Directors, Campus Directors, Vice Presidents, and Quality Assurance Teams who sacrificed countless hours and days to make this possible. Most importantly, it belongs to our students, because they deserve a university governed by excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement”.
This ISO 9001:2015 is one of the key commitments Dr. Samson L. Molao, upon assuming leadership of the University, to strengthen institutional excellence and ensure that quality remains at the heart of every service delivered to students, stakeholders, and communities.
The successful attainment of the ISO 9001:2015 Certification was made possible through the leadership and hard work of Dr. Elmer C. Buenavides, University ISO Chairperson, and Dr. Rodelyn M. Dalayap, Director for Quality Assurance, who spearheaded the university’s quality management initiatives and preparations throughout the certification process. Their efforts, coupled with the full support and visionary leadership of Dr. Molao, paved the way for this significant institutional achievement.
The certification affirms that SKSU’s Quality Management System meets international standards, ensuring that its academic, administrative, research, extension, and support services are delivered effectively and consistently to meet stakeholder requirements and expectations.
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), this achievement particularly advances SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by promoting excellence in educational services, transparent and accountable governance systems, and collaboration with international certification bodies and stakeholders.
