The Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), through its College of Law, formally inaugurated and turned over its newly constructed Moot Court facility on March 3, 2026, at the ACCESS Campus in Tacurong City.

University officials, faculty members, law students, and invited guests gathered at the front of the Magsasaka Building to witness the historic milestone for the College of Law. The establishment of the Moot Court signifies the university’s continued commitment to academic excellence and practical legal education.

The construction of the facility was realized through the strong initiative and full support of University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, whose administration recognized the need for a dedicated courtroom simulation venue for law students. Anchored on his vision to continuously upgrade university infrastructure and strengthen professional programs, the Moot Court project was prioritized to provide students with a learning environment that mirrors actual court proceedings.

Dr. Reynaldо H. Dalayap, Vice President for Finance, Administration, and Resource Generation, delivered the message of President Molao, reiterating the administration’s strong commitment to strengthening academic facilities and providing law students with a professional and well-equipped training environment.

In her message, Dean Atty. Lennie Ann C. Cerdana, LL.M., underscored the importance of the Moot Court as a training ground for aspiring lawyers, emphasizing that the facility will strengthen the advocacy skills, legal reasoning, and professional competence of law students.

The ceremonial acceptance was marked by the presentation of the symbolic key, formally transferring the newly completed facility to the College of Law. Mr. Edwin Baylon of Gravala Enterprises, the contractor of the project, was also present during the turnover.

Associate Dean Atty. Sandra Mae B. Bonrustro concluded the ceremony by recognizing the collective efforts of the university leadership, faculty, and stakeholders who made the project possible.

Beyond infrastructure development, the establishment of the Moot Court contributes to the realization of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 on Quality Education and SDG 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. By providing a facility that enhances experiential learning and professional preparation, SKSU strengthens access to quality legal education and helps develop future legal practitioners who will uphold justice, promote the rule of law, and contribute to stronger institutions in the community.
