SKSU-CPD Training starts strong with 83 engaged Participants

The SKSU CPD Team formally started the training of 83 participants hailed from the various institutions in Region 12 and BARMM on April 5, 2024 at Antonia’s Place, Kalawag I, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. Hosted by Dr. Cris John Bryan Dela Cruz, the opening program started with welcome remarks delivered by Prof. Doreen Tampus. Prof. Mary Joy Carnazo, Overall Coordinator, elucidated the rationale of the training and oriented the participants about the house rules. Then, Dr. Jesusa Ortuoste, OIC-SKSU President, was represented by Dr. Janet Rabut. The latter gave an inspirational message that invigorated the participants’ interest in learning trends in teaching and assessment. Meanwhile, Dr. Adrian Protacio, introduced Dr. Ernie Cerado, SKSU Vice President for Academic Affairs, as a Keynote Speaker.  Dr Cerado set the tone, provided motivation and inspiration, and offered fresh perspectives in continuously innovating the teaching and learning process.

Then, Dr. Mildred Accad, Dean of the Graduate School, was the resource person for Topic 1. She mentored the participants on the post-pandemic educational landscape, particularly the need for methodological shifts in teaching and assessment. In the afternoon, Dr. Elizabeth Bauzon, resource person of the Workshop 1. Her lecture stressed integrating technological tools in teaching general education and technology education courses. Then, it was followed by Workshop 2, which focused on lesson planning with peer critiquing and assignments. Day 1 ended with a wrap-up coming from the selected participants.
