ILIGAN CITY, Philippines — Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) joined educators, academic leaders, and education stakeholders from across Mindanao in the 2026 Learning Innovation Summit at the Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) on August 19, 2026. The two-day summit focuses on educational transformation, innovation, and collective responses to the country’s learning crisis.
The SKSU delegation was led by the University President Atty. Cyrus E. Torreña, DPA, MNSA. The opening program featured welcome remarks from MSU-IIT Chancellor Prof. Alizedney M. Ditucalan, JD, LLD, and keynote presentations from education leaders, including Dr. Karol Mark Yee, Executive Director of EDCOM II; Dr. Jennie V. Jocson of the Teacher Education Council; Dr. Jayeel S. Cornelio of the DOST-Science Education Institute; and Br. Bernard S. Oca, FSC of De La Salle University.
The afternoon sessions will feature panel discussions and parallel workshops addressing key issues in education, including artificial intelligence, research and academic writing, early literacy and student well-being, and technical-vocational education for rural development. SKSU delegates participated in these sessions to gain insights and explore innovative approaches that may be applied within the university.
SKSU’s participation reflects its continuing commitment to innovation, knowledge exchange, and collaboration with academic institutions and education stakeholders toward advancing quality education in the region.
