The future of technology and entrepreneurship in Sultan Kudarat shone brightly at the Provincial Startup Pitching Competition, a very timely event spearheaded by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and co-organized by the DOST-SKSU TBI-STEP APP. Held on September 14, 2023, at the Multi-Purpose Hall in the Administration Building of Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU), this activity served as a platform to empower students and mentors in the realm of technology and entrepreneurship.

The event drew enthusiastic participation from students pursuing computer, IT, and business-related courses at both SKSU and Notre Dame of Tacurong College, creating an atmosphere charged with innovation and creativity. These young minds showcased their technological prowess and entrepreneurial spirit.

Dr. Reynaldo H. Dalayap, Jr., the Vice President for Finance, Administration, and Resource Generation of SKSU, who represented the University President Dr. Samson L. Molao, expressed his excitement about the competition, highlighting its potential to unearth and nurture the region’s brightest talents in technology and entrepreneurship. The presence of Engr. Ibrahim Guiapar, Jr., the DICT Provincial Field Team Lead, and Hon. Jose Remos P. Segura, the ICT Committee Chairperson of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, underscored the significance of this event in the local tech and business ecosystem.

The competition was a blend of workshops and demo pitching sessions, offering participants valuable insights into the intricacies of building and presenting a startup idea. As the day progressed, the excitement reached its zenith during the pitching sessions, where participants had the opportunity to present their startup ideas to a panel of esteemed judges.
