To champion the Universal Health Care (UHC) Act, Sultan Kudarat State University (SKSU) teamed up with PhilHealth Regional Office XII to spearhead the YAKAP Service Delivery Caravan on September 30, 2026, at the SKSU ACCESS University Gymnasium.
Carrying the theme “Sa Bagong Pilipinas, Malayo sa Sakit—Magpa-Rehistro na!”, the day-long event catered to graduating students and university personnel, including Job Order (JO) and Contract of Service (COS) workers.
The caravan highlighted the rollout of the PhilHealth Yaman ng Kalusugan (YAKAP) Program, an expansion of the former Konsulta program, designed to help students transition smoothly into independent adult healthcare decision-making.
SKSU President Atty. Cyrus E. Torrena, DPA MNSA, along with PhilHealth RO XII Regional Vice President Dr. Hector Zenon Leonardo P. Malate, graced the event to deliver opening messages of support. They were joined by Chief Social Insurance Officer Nevin L. Hallegado and Medical Specialist I Dr. Kevin Al D. Rabor, who led membership orientations and program briefings.
Attendees gained seamless access to a wide array of onsite services, including YAKAP info desks, membership updates, eGovPH assistance, First Patient Encounters (FPE), and basic health screenings such as blood pressure checks and TB risk assessments.
The successful turnout underscored a strong institutional partnership between SKSU and PhilHealth Region XII, solidifying a shared commitment to advancing proactive health habits and community wellness under the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
